Chris & Rachelle 2010-02-09 07:07:06 - weddings There was once a girl named Rachelle who went to a school in a far away town. She would often bus it with this particular girl and the 2 of them laughed the whole way. However, one day Rachelle was left alone on the bus. Alone, with all her thoughts... and her homework to which she was so fond of. No joke. Out of the corner of her eye, on the side of the road, she saw a boy, with a push bike (yes, we were that little) and she said to herself "I'm going to marry that boy one day".
And she did. In the most fairy tale of all weddings. Rachelle, you are an inspiration to me. It has been so great getting to know you for the last 23 years and I wish you and Chris every happiness as you begin your lives together as husband and wife. Chris, I know you'll treat her like the princess she deserves. I have never seen her happier or more joyous than when she's with you and it was such an honour, a privelege and joy to be able to document your marriage to each other. The brilliant flowers.
Look who I saw!!!! It's James Day!!! It's my dad!
Rach, you're so glam. Rach's grandma. The uh-mazing cake. Some details details.

Kelan & Lorena - Wedding 2010-02-04 11:18:21 - weddings I love love. I know it sounds cliche and I sound like such a typical woman when I say this, but there's something about seeing 2 people in love that makes my insides go funny. And no, not that kind of funny. It's the way a groom looks at his bride as he sees her walking down the aisle for the first time, or when you catch a glimpse of them feeling like they're the only two people in the world. It's a yummy moment.
Kelan and Lorena had a small ceremony in Port Stephens last November and let me say, there were plenty of yummy moments. For this particular day, these two were the only two people in the whole entire world, and I was completely honoured and humbled to have been asked to document their special day.
This series is my fave...
See... Yumminess...
Kelan and Lorena, thank you so much for being such an amazing couple and friends. I truly hope the best for you guys and can't wait to hear how the plans go for your 'proper' wedding in Spain next year! I think I'll keep him. 2010-01-17 18:00:13 - anytime Yesterday was one of THOSE days. You know, the ones that seem like they'll go on forever. It started with 6 hours of work at the studio. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE my job more than Krispy Kremes, but when you wait around for 3 hours between an appointment and your last, then the last doesn't appear, that's never very fun. I was however looking forward to the engagement session I had that evening though. Anyway, that's not the point of this post. The point is, I literally had2 hours at home between 8 am and 8 pm. It was a busy day and I was totally prepared to do the whole take-out thing for dinner upon my return.
Well interwebbians, I arrive home after one fabulous and totally awesome engagement session to find Pete preparing dinner. Grilled Salmon and steamed veggies and all. Oh, and did I mention the cheese sauce that complimented this little masterpiece? Oh yes internet, I have the catch of the world. I think I'll keep him.
And because no post is complete without piccies for dessert, here's a little snap from Catherine and Phil's engagement session last night. Delectable yumminess.
Happy Sundays! The Ding wedding. The 2nd biggest marital bash of the year. 2010-01-10 18:12:21 - weddings Wow! It's 2010 already. Where has that gone? I was in year 8 when the turn of the millennium happened, and I remember thinking to myself, "wow, in a decade, I'll be almost 24. I'll never be that old". Well old me, guess what? YOU ARE! Although my brother might argue that I'll always be that 14 year old. Or at least act like it. Minus the acne of course, which I think we all agree is for the better. This now brings me to the point of this here, THE FIRST BLOG POST OF 2010. MY BROTHER'S WEDDING!!
Ellis and Karla asked me to photograph their wedding last year because, get this: THEY LIKE MY PHOTOS! I may have done a little jig all Michael Flatley, Lord of the Dance style, the moment was THAT awesome. They were also amazing and brilliant and special enough to allow Pete and I to have our wedding first, in August, even though, technically, they got in first. Yup. They're THAT awesome too! The Ceremony was up north, in Port Macquarie at Harry's Lookout and reception at the Mercure. I think I'm going to marry a man who owns a Hotel chain. It was pretty great!
The boys didn't know how to tie a windsor knot. Thankfully, the most spunkiest of spunkies was there to save the day!
My brother Ladies and Gentlemen.
Karla, You look totally glam!
Yup, glam.
The view from the ceremony.
Nanny Nell.
Nnaaaawwwww......
After the ceremony, we headed down the Shelly Beach for some pretty fun shots.
Dear Pete, I'm clucky. Love Bec.
We then headed out to a small Vineyard just out of town.
Ellis, your a goopda. Internet, there is actually a best man behind that flailing groom. Somewhere.
And then to a small wharf. You may recognise this wharf from Becky's wedding.
Our dad is a Mitsubishi Salesman. This one's for him.
Karla's dad, total champ!
And then there was dancing!
To see more from their wedding, click here for a slideshow. Great reads... 2009-12-16 00:00:00 - personal I mmaaeeeyyy have splurged a bit. I maaeeeyyy have spent a little too much on this little piece of heaven I found on the inter-webz, and I maaeeeyyy not have told Pete about it until after this splurge. But if I know him like I think I do... he would only be proud. You see internet, it was through him that I found this little slice of web-heaven. So, really, it's all his fault! See, I have an obsession with books like most girls have an obsession with babies. I love the way they smell, and there's nothing better than snuggling up with one on the couch on a lazy Sunday. I swear, every time I walk in to borders, my tummy does a back flip. So, thank you Pete for introducing me to The Book Depository.
The End. Kattie - mini boudoir session 2009-12-09 00:00:00 - anytime You might remember Kattie from her wedding a few months ago. You might also remember my post about now offering boudoir sessions.Prior to their ceremony I stole Kattie for a mini boudoir session. Here are a couple of the images.
If you are interested in a mini boudoir session on your wedding day, or even just one in general, drop me an email. Jealousy... 2009-12-03 00:00:00 - personal while at Uni, I spent a lot of time being envious. Envious of the girl with the big gospel voice, envious of the guy who could sit at the piano and automatically play the song he just heard for the first time. For those of you who don't know, I completed a Bachelor of Music in Sydney, and I did not consider myself one of those to be envious of. My heart purely wasn't in it and I badly wanted to be one of those who the talent seemed to come to effortlessly. Since becoming a photographer, I have managed to turn the jealousy in to competition. Competition with myself. to further better myself and make every image and moment I capture be better than the last. To really make that moment sing. Well inter-galactic web, I may have changed my attitude, now doing something that I truly enjoy and love love love love love, but if I hear someone singing that is better than me (which isn't hard)... my heart flutters and the little green monster appears again. O.K. he's not so green anymore, as pink with lime spots. Still... he's there! I came across this little beauty on YouTube. I think most of my class from uni would be jealous of this. She's 12. 'nuff said.
Craig & Sam 2009-12-02 00:00:00 - weddings I believe gobsmacked is the term I would use. 1 HOT bride, 1 SPUNKY groom + a fabulous bridal party and you have Craig and Sam's wedding. These guys are amazing. I had so much fun hanging out with them and getting to know them just that little bit better! They were married in my home town, Walcha, at the Catholic church, a church that is nothing short of fabulous, where they had a wedding which was nothing short of fabulous either. Craig and Sam, you completely amaze me with your kindness, funness (yes, I just made that word up), generosity and complete and utter fab-ness. That is all. P.S. I MAY have doubled my beaten my record of "how many pictures can I cram into one post". Once again, I win! Work it girls!
The wedding was starting at 3:30. I maybe changed the time on the clock to work with me and forgot to change it back... maybe...
Some bling bling...
Flowergirls = cuteness
Sam, you're so beautiful!
Gorgeous Bridesmaids...
Maybe...
Sam wore a family brooch as her something old. It worked so well I thought.
nnnawwwww....
Mr & Mrs...
Brian the priest.
The rest I think speak for themselves. These two could not stop smiling the entire day. It made me so warm and fuzzy inside to see how happy and in love they are.
I think this is my fave from the day...
Or this one.
Sam and Craig, once again, thank you for such a fabulous day. I hope you're having an Uh-May-Zing time in thailand. Have some Pad Thai for me! P.S. Personal Challenge #1: I promise, scratch that, will try, and blog everyday between now and Christmas. Keep and eye out! Adam & Becky 2009-11-24 00:00:00 - weddings This post is a little late. Becky, I apologise. Becky and Adam were married in Port Macquarie last last Saturday and they had the most perfect day. It wasn't too hot and the sun did the job it was supposed to. Snaps all around! You might remember Becky from this post and this post , so she's no stranger to the blog. You might also remember her doing hair for this particular wedding . I think the awesomeness goes with the general name... Adam and Becky, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of your day. You guys look so happy together and I hope you feel these images reflect your day perfectly.
Yes Becky, you look toh-tall-ee glam!
The bouquets made me so warm and fuzzy inside I think I would have run away with them in a heart beat.
Nicola, the flowergirl, looking out at Becky getting her make-up done.
The girls = stunners!
Becky, you looked so gorgeous!
You might also remember me having trouble to narrow down from this post . Well internet, I was getting better at it, now I'm struggling again. There are 19 images on this post. *sigh*. One day I'll learn. Rowan & Vanessa 2009-11-17 00:00:00 - engagements At times when I feel like I'm completely stuck in a rut of photographic in-genius (I don't think that's the right word, but I was stuck) I get a little gift from God. This time, it was in the form of Vanessa and Rowan. The most amazingly funnest couple. Ever. We started our session at the docks behind the Sydney Theatre Company and were there literally a thousandth of a second before some funny little short man dressed in red suit looking all official-like came along and told us we had to move or suffer the consequences. A fine. A small little bit of paper telling me I would owe the government money. Well internet, I tell you, since having my own business, I am getting very used to the government telling me I owe them money. (I almost typed "own them money". I WISH!). So, moral of the story kiddies, don't take pictures on the dock near the Harbour Bridge. It's forboden. Back to the exciting part of the story. Vanessa and Rowan. So, we left what we then realised was a feral part of Sydney anyways, and decided to go for a wander around the back streets of the rocks. And rocks they did! These guys brought their own props. Can I just say YUMMY! We were not short of ideas, from parasols to wire airplanes to old polaroid cameras. Yes my dear internet friend. They were that awesome.
This car was brilliant. Just sitting there. In the middle of a round-a-bout. With a giant rock squashing it. Why didn't I think of that?
Work it girl!
Apparently, Rowan loves his planes.
FYI Rowan plays guitar too.
I wish I lived in New York.
Vanessa brought along some angel wings. So, naturally, Rowan played the devil card.
See. DEVIL!
Vanessa & Rowan, you guys rock. I had so much fun and I can't wait for your wedding in March. |
